About me
Hello, my name is Hannah Hargrave, I am a recent BA animation graduate seeking a career in the creative industry.

During my time at university, I explored a wide variety of animation and art techniques, that inspired a passion for abstract art, animation, and UI / UX design.
UX / UI Design
Portfolio
After completing my Google Ux design qualification, I decided to update my portfolio, as my skills had drastically improved since I first started the course.
Apartment finder
As part of the Google UX Design course we were tasked with curating user research, usability studies, creating wire frames, and prototypes. This project was focused on using Adobe XD and becoming familiar with the software.
Art Shop and Social App
This project was part of the UI / UX design course. I used this project as an opportunity to develop my skills in figma as well as learning more about usability studies and wireframing techniques.
Undated PDF Digital Diary / Journal
This was a personal project intended to create a digital diary/journal that would be compatible with digital note taking apps, such as Goodnotes, and Notability. I created various templates using keynote.
Animation
Commercial Project: Growing together
During the second lockdown, I had the pleasure of working with St Michaels Hospice, to work on a commercial animation for their growing together social programme. Using Adobe Animate and Adobe Premiere pro for this project.

Commercial project: COVID19 infographic
As part of a work with St Michaels Hospice to create a Covid19 infographic animation, akin to something you would see in a doctors office. I used a wide range of new techniques with this animation, using Adobe Illustrator, In design, and Adobe Aftereffects to create and animate each character.

Animation reel: 3D CGI
This reel is a collection of work I created during our CGI 3D Animation module during my BA in Animation. Using Cinema4D I was tasked with creating a few simple animations using the physics settings. For the post production of these animations, once rendered in Cinema4D, were taken to Adobe Premiere pro to create the final exports and reel.

Animation reel: The principles of animation
My first assignment on my course was creating various basic animations that each demonstrate a principle of animation, at the end of the reel you can see my first final project of the first year. This reel is comprised of animations created using a pencil, animation paper, a lightbox, and Dragonframe. Having a camera set on top of a tripod, I took pictures of each individual frame for each animation. Premiere pro was used for editing the final reel together.

Stop motion module: Drunk
This animation project was part of a module for stop motion animation. We were tasked to get into pairs, and work collaboratively with a fellow student. In this project, I focused on the camera work, project management, editing and animating with my partner. This was a very influential animation, as I found an interest in the abstract style of patterns we used for the hallucinations. We used a camera on a tripod, paper, and Dragonframe to put all of the frames together. I used Premiere pro to edit the full sequence together.

Year 3 Final: Terror
*Flashing imagery warning
For my final major project of Year 3, I decided to create an abstract animation. Using Adobe Premiere pro and Procreate, I focused on creating a wide range of experimental sequences, and chose the best ones to composit into a full animation. This project was very important to me, as abstract animation had now become a passion of mine.

Title sequence module: Cannibal church
We were tasked with creating this title sequence, I used Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe After effects. Both Photoshop and After effects were softwares I knew I needed to become more familiar with. The concept of this title sequence was for a thriller series called 'Cannibal church'

Editing module: Final
*Flashing imagery warning
As a part of the first year, we were introduced to premiere pro with an editing module focused on creating abstract short films, whilst exploring premiere pro, and its features. This module was very integral to our future practice. As animation students, and creatives. Being able to freely explore Adobe Premiere pro and abstract film was a very interesting part of the course, that I appreciate having the experience with.

Year 2 final: Intero
*Flashing imagery warning
Intero was my final major project of year 2. It consists of abstract animation, in time with music. This project was a massive inspiration to me, as I discovered many amazing abstract animators and film makers in the development process. Using Adobe Premiere pro, and Procreate, I created several sequences of animation, using different brushes, colour, and texture to create this final render.
Adobe Premiere Pro
Abstract module: Ghosty
*Flashing imagery warning
During my final year at university, we were tasked with creating work that went outside of our comfort zone, to further develop our skills. To create this abstract animation for the module, I decided to take a different approach to using Procreate. I used my phone camera, the photo editing settings, and Adobe premiere pro to create an interesting, and different abstract animation to the projects I had completed prior.\n
